81 individuals, 50 teams! The winners of the inaugural National Engineer Awards have been announced.

On January 19, the National Engineer Award Ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People, where 81 individuals were awarded the title of "National Outstanding Engineer" and 50 teams were awarded the title of "National Outstanding Engineer Team".

Engineers are the main driving force behind the development of engineering science and technology and an important component of the national strategic talent pool, providing the foundational and strategic talent support for promoting new industrialization and China's modernization. Cultivating a large number of outstanding engineers with both integrity and ability is a long-term development strategy for the country and the nation.

The engineers and teams recognized this time have shown dedication to their work in major engineering construction, major equipment manufacturing, tackling key bottlenecks, and major inventions and innovations. They have achieved a number of advanced engineering and technological accomplishments, continuously enhancing the country's independent innovation capabilities.

It is reported that among the awardees, Zhang Jun from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Microsatellite Innovation Research Institute was awarded the title of "National Outstanding Engineer", and the China National Astronomical Observatory's "Chinese Giant Telescope Engineering Team" was awarded the title of "National Outstanding Engineer Team".
